It looks like that currently three people want to immortalize Kishore Kumar on the celluloid by making a movie on his life. Once in a century you get a performer and an entertainer like him. He could dance, sing and act besides composing at which he was the best. Shoojit Sircar who has already started the project based on the work and the songs of Kishore has had to put his project on hold.

Meanwhile Sudhir Mishra is in a dilemma of sorts, as he does not know who should be caste to play the legend. He wanted to make a movie on the life of Guru Dutt who has had a profound influence on his life but Dutt has already included phases of his life in movies like Pyasa and Kagaz Ke Phool. The life of Kishore Da remains a mystery and people want to know more about him.

Nagesh Kukunoor who his third in line wanting to make the movie has expressed his desire to caste Shreya Talpade in the role. The reasoning behind this is that he does not want to caste a superstar who might overshadow the character and secondly he knows that Shreyas is a huge fan of Kishore Da. He has even had long sessions with Kishore’s son and wife to know more about him as a person.

Who will finally be able to make the bio epic remains to be seen? Subhash Ghai recommended an established actor for the role. It looks like Nagesh has his nose ahead at this point of time with having the actor finalized. He also seems to have talked to quite a few producers and has done the ground work requited for writing the screenplay.
