It’s here and it’s rocking! We are talking anout none other than Madhuri Dixit’s comeback vehicle Aaja Nachle, whose first look is out and has taken the audience by complete surprise. The teaser is resplendent with Madhuri’s latkas and jhatkas and will definitely go down very well with the Indian cinegoers who have been waiting to see their 90s’ superstar actress back after a five year sabbatical. Madhuri was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, in August 2002.

The teaser completely exploits Madhuri’s repuatation as one of the best dancers ever seen in the Indian Film Industry. A svelte figure with a full moon in the background moves to the jhankaar of the payal, and the chorus plays in the back: ’jhanak jhanak jhan, khanak khanak khan’. And with the sarangi being played to a mesmerizing composition, it revs up the heart of the Indian cine-goers like nothing else in the past many months or probably years.

The music plays as the ever so gracious Madhuri moves to the tunes and her beautiful mudras (hand-gestures) are so aptly captivate the true essence of dance. And what could have been better than Madhuri Dixit when it came to dance? The mother of two looks ravishing in a black and blue ghagra choli sequined with the glitterati that has adorned her dresses like in many other movies. We must add here that the music, even though a few seconds long only, promises to be a great composition itself. And when the Yash Raj Films come back with a movie, it just has to be great.

Director Anil Mehta, producer by Aditya Chopra and writer Jaideep Sahni, who was the screenwriter and lyricist of Chak De India, come together with Aaja Nachley, to usher Madhuri’s comeback into Bollywood. Joining her would be Konkona Sen Sharma, who has already said enough about the jitters she got while having to dance with the legend that Madhuri Dixit is.
