Aish rakes in big bucks from ads

When Nakshatra signed on Katrina Kaif a lot was said that Katrina has replaced Aishwarya Rai and that the brands are leaving her. However, the figures tell a slightly different story. Aish rakes in a billion rupees just from her advertisements. It was her decision to stop promoting brands like Nakshatra and Coca Cola with whom she has had a very long relationship.

Aish is still associated with Longines which is a luxury watch brand from Switzerland. She is still very much part of Lux ad campaigns and she is the brand ambassador of L’Oreal which specializes in hair care products. Charles Villoz who is the VP of Longines says that Aish is and international face and she has not had a dip in her popularity recently.

Prahlad Kakkar who shot Aish in a coke ad campaign in 1993 says that despite her movies are a hit or flop she continues to be the face of Indian women worldwide. She is like brand ambassador of the country. The reason she ended her deal with Coke was that her family did not want her to promote aerated drinks that have been proven harmful.

Aish increased her presence substantially in the international markets after she became a part of movies like Bride and Prejudice, Mistress of Spices, Provoked and Pink Panther 2.The actress has shown that she promotes only that products that she feel are right. She recently refused to promote a skin whitening cream by Loreal, as she knew that would be not good. She still though remains amongst the top moneymakers from the advertisements.
