Aishwarya shocks and impresses Ramu

The woman who was voted the most beautiful Miss World ever has managed to gain one more feat by shocking none other than Bollywood’s i-do-not-follow-trends director Ram Gopal Verma. We are talking about Aishwarya Rai’s performance in the forthcoming sequel to the 2005 hit Sarkar, which was one of the first movies to bring senior and junior Bs, that is Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan together as a father-son duo.

The movie which was said to be based on Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray back then, was a hit, with splendid performances by it’s cast. Aishwarya was roped in for the sequel a few months back. It is being said that she has done the role in the movie completely sans make-up. But as it is, it wasn’t just about shedding make up, it was about giving a performance which would match those of many characters which have risen to fame with Ram Gopal Verma’s movies. The director insists that he had the time of his life shooting with her and added that,
“Very frankly, I was wondering what she had in store as I had never worked with her before. And considering the sequel to Sarkar is a dark, intense, raw and real film I was apprehensive about how far Aishwarya would be able to shed her immense glamour.”

But Aishwarya, having proved herself as far more than just a pretty face all these years, surprised him as she gave a splendid performance without too many rehearsals and without attending any pre-shoot workshop. RGV himself insists that she will shock the audiences with her acting in this movie, where it is reported that she will be playing a woman, who takes over from the patriarchs of the family, to handle the ‘business’.

Well, here is wishing her a hit in this one and hoping that audiences too are bowled over by her acting, just like Ram Gopal Verma is.
