Having registering a hit at the box office was a welcome relief for both Akshay Kumar and the industry, which has seen a drought of hits of late. Kambakkht Ishq ended that drought both for Akshay and for the industry and that was reason enough for Akshay and Kareena Kapoor to celebrate the success of the movie. The movie has so far had huge collections in the opening week and it is very likely that the movie will enjoy more success.

Akshay in fact revealed that the part had more hosts to it than what was seen. The unofficial joint hosts for the party were the entire team of New York the second movie that is doing good business at the box office. Katrina Kaif and John Abraham were present to celebrate the success of both the movies. Akshay made it a point to invite the entire film industry not leaving anyone behind.

Now that is especially great when you consider the fact that Akshay has himself repeatedly said that there are people who do not want his movies to do well. Even when New York was released there were SMS’s doing the rounds saying that it is not a good movie trying to stop audiences from going to the theatre.

The venue for this mega event was the Marriott Hotel and all the friends of Akki, Bebo and Twinkle Khanna were present which makes for almost the entire industry. Akshay even made a personal invitation to Shahrukh Khan who obviously could not attend the party as he is shooting for his movie My Name Is Khan in San Francisco.
