Deepika Padukone recently said in an interview that in the movie Love Aaj Kal people will get to see her as she is in her real. This is the most honest performance given by her in her small career so far. All that was required of her was to simply react in front of the camera as she would react in a real life situation. She in fact felt as if she was not required to anything. In fact, she had to be assured by Imtiaz Ali that she was doing all fine and the performance was good.

She says that in this movie she was able to use her emotions in a much better way guess that comes only with experience. Of all her four movies that she has done so far, she says that in this movie she felt the most confident while shooting and even added something extra into her character. She was even able to improvise in her dialogues and use the space she had more effectively.

She also made commented on the reports, which said that Akshay Kumar had lost faith in her as an actor after the debacle of the movie China Chowk to China. She retorted back saying that if he had doubted her credentials as an actor then he would not have been doing another movie with her that is Housefull.

She said that after all the hard work that goes into making a movie you do feel a bit upset after a movie flops. However no all the hard would be going waste, as the skills that she picked during the shoot of the movie would be helpful to her somewhere in the near future.
