Amitabh Bachchan still rules the television screens and that fact was evident when the announcement was made that he will be paid around 2.5 crores for every aired episode of Big Boss featuring him. That is more than what anybody has been paid on any reality show be it the contestant or the host. The highest that anybody was paid was Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar for their respective shows Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? and Khatron Ke Khiladi respectively.

Both of them were paid around one crore was each episode but that is nothing compared to the figure that Amitabh is all set to receive. Even Salman Khan whose show Dus Ka Dum is doing so well was just paid 80 lakhs for each episode in the first season. The reason for this astronomical amount being paid to the Big B is unknown but that certainly makes him the highest paid actor on Indian television.

With so much at stake the drama inside the house of the Big Boss is all set to go up a level higher and the bar will be a set a lot higher this time around for the contestants. The makers of the show would have carefully studies all aspects of the show and how they are going to get those high TRP’s. Now the audience response to the show will be very eagerly awaited.

There is no point calculating what Amitabh will earn as the Big Boss will air 84 episodes in this season. If there is no hidden clause, the makers might have bitten much more than what they can swallow.
