Antara Mali the actress who has not been too busy lately has grabbed the opportunity to play a part in the next Amol Palekar directorial venture. The movie will see her playing a Buddhist monk. The role that she has been offered is a cameo but you grab anything that you get a hold on when you are waiting for a project on a bench. Antara gave beautiful performance in her debut movie main Madhuri Dikshit Banna Chahti Hoon although her movie Naach was a bit time failure at the box office.

Antara should be thanking someone though because if it were not for Manisha Koirala she would not have landed with the part. Manisha was the first choice to play the part and she was even happy with the character but she thought that the role was even lesser than that of a cameo.She said that if there something more in the part she would have definitely gone ahead and done the movie. She also expressed her desire to work with Amol Palekar in the future. The actress has ha movies like Dil Se, Khamoshi and Bombay .After doing such work you have the right to expect better stuff.

Amol Palekar’s last directorial movie Paheli was the Indian movie that was send to the Oscars although the movie did not won the Oscar. The expectations from his next release are bound to increase and the movie will generate the much-needed hype. Antara will have to shave off her beautiful locks before playing a monk. The actress we hear has no problems with the haircut.

Antara will be hoping that the effort will bring her back in the thick of things and she will once again start getting good scripts to choose from.
