Every actor wants to attend the premiere of his debut movie but not all are so luck. Anupam Kher had no premiere of his debut movie Saraansh and now when the movie is being re-released 25 years after it was made he is very eager to attend the movie premiere. He says that undoubtedly, the performance he gave in this movie was his best one and he has been unable to surpass that performance in his 25-year long career.

He says that he would be happy if he were half of what B.B. Pradhan was, the name of his character in the movie. The movie won him the Filmfare award and was directed by Mahesh Bhatt. In the movie, he played a man fighting or his rights. First, he goes abroad to fight for the right to bring back the ashes of his son who has died and later on he takes on the might of powerful politicians fighting for his rights as a tenant.

The movie was send to the Oscars to be nominated in the best foreign film category though it did not win. Anupam says that the greatest complement he has received was from Sanjeev Kumar who was originally offered the role. He cried while watching the movie and said that he could not have done justice to the role himself.

The reason being for such a performance was the fact that he was hungry and more passionate at that time. Playing the role of an older man in his debut movie surely was a huge step. The other premiere that he will be attending this year will be for Zokommon, Hawai Dada and Wake Up Sid.
