Anurag Basu and John Abraham has a bad outing at the bad office last time they worked together. The movie we are talking about is No Smoking and Anurag was very upset and angry after the movie flopped. He has now tried to accept what went wrong and is trying to rectify his earlier mistakes. He has roped in john Abraham once again for Bombay Velvet that he will be directing.

The director is having a nice run at the box office with his last two movies Dev D and Gulaal doing very well at the box office counter. The Bombay velvet is based on incidents that actually took place. The movie is based around the year 1960 and John plays a hero of the people. Anurag wanted it to work this time around so he asked two more people to write the screen play and these were the people who criticized No Smoking the most.

He also seemed appreciative of the work Sharmila Tagore and Vinayak Azad had done with censor board. He also said that movies like Johnny Gaddar and Black Friday would have a wider audience once they are released internationally after the success of Slumdog Millionaire. Earlier nobody was interested in releasing these movies.

He also spoke about his relationship with Kalki Koechlin. He said that it was while shooting for Dev D that he realized how much he wanted her in her life. After Bombay Velvet there is an all out action movie that he is doing with Kunal. The movie will be based on the comic book series Doga and will have special effects that requires a lot of time to be done. The movie will have the highest budget for any Bollywood movie.
