Karan Johar may have offered an apology after the goons of Raj Thackeray threatened to ban the movie Wake Up Sid just for making use of the word Bombay in one of the scenes. They also made fake threats saying that there would be dire consequences if he did not offer an apology and had the scene deleted. Anurag Kashyap who has the title of his next flick as Bombay Velvet is not all fazed by all this and he said that he would stick with the title no matter what.

He says that the movie is based in an era when Mumbai was called Bombay and changing the name would mean that he is killing the artistic expression, which forms the base of movie making. He said that Raj Thackeray the MNS chief was yet to be born in that era which he would be showing in his movie. He believed that there is no point or logic in renaming the title.

He says that he would not hesitate even for a moment to take legal course if the MNS interfered in the making or the promotion of the movie in any way. Bombay Velvet would be the first of three movies that he plans to make on Mumbai. He says that work on all movies would be completed by sometime around the middle of next year.
