Arundhati was one of the biggest hit amongst the Telugu movie fans last year. The movie revolved around a woman Arundhati who plays a very pivotal role. Sonu Sood played the lead role in the Tamil version. After seeing, the success of the movie down south many moviemakers wanted to remake the movie in Hindi. Madhu Mantena who was the producer of Ghajini tried to get the rights for the movie but was unsuccessful.

Now M. Shyam Prasad who made the Tamil version has decided to make the Hindi version also. The lead actor will still be Sonu Sood. Priyadarshan was approached to direct the Hindi version but he politely declined citing a busy schedule. Kodi Ramkrishna who directed the Tamil version is more than willing to direct the remake but he does not understand the Hindi language. Finally, Rahul who was a technician in the Tamil version has been finalized as the director.

Anushka Shankar who made her debut with Rab Ne Bana De Jodi opposite Shahrukh Khan was the first choice for the movie but the casting members thought that she had some kind of a deal with Yashraj and that she was not allowed to sign movies outside their banner. Therefore, they had to look for someone else and Anushka missed this wonderful opportunity.

Now with the movie stuck up again they are planning to make the movie with the girl who was a part of the original movie. Now since most of the caste is the same and with the caste raring to go, it is likely that the movie will soon be ready for the audiences in the north.
