Joseph Thottumkal who is the father of Asin makes it a point to travel with her to all her shoots and her professional commitments. He is very protective of her daughter as any other father should be in these times. However, sometimes it can also be bad like recently Salman Khan was very frustrated, as he never had time to spend with Asin as his father was always nearby.

Now for the first time in her career Asin is travelling alone to keep her prior commitments. Her father has been hospitalized at Kokilabhen Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Recently Asin travelled to the tech city Bangalore for the work commitment she has. When she came back, she rushed off to the hospital and though it is very close to their house, the actress said that the drive felt like a very long one.

His dad who has been asked not to eat anything as he is soon going to undergo an operation for appendectomy. He still is trying to manage all the dates of her daughter so that her work and career does not get affected. Though he knew that sometime soon he will have to go under the knife he managed to postpone the surgery for a while with the help of painkillers until it became inevitable.

Due to the operation Asin will also be not able to cast her vote in her home town of Kerala, as she would not be in her home state at the time of elections. Asin is having London Dreams lined up for release in which she will be sharing the screen space with Salman and Ajay Devgan.
