With the competition increasing day by day there are not many chances you get to display your talent. Your first opportunity might very well be your last so you got to put everything into it and that is exactly what Ayesha Mohan has done in her debut movie Gulaal directed by the now very popular director Anurag Kashyap. She very obviously was not the first choice for the part she says and in fact was the last one.

However, you need a little bit of luck and that is what happened. The mainstream actresses were not keen to play the part and Anurag almost in a burst of anger decided that he had had enough and decided to make the movie with me playing the part. At first, it came as a shock but later the feeling of happiness of appearing on the celluloid sank in. The actresses who refused to play the part of could not play it due to some reasons were Antara Mali and Konkona Sen Sharma.

The character she plays in the movie is a very complex one and was especially difficult to play it since she was making her debut. However, she went by what Anurag said and how he wanted her to enact. Anurag even changed the plot a wee bit so that he could incorporate her hobby that is playing guitar in the movie. Quite a nice director you have if he is willing to change the script so that you feel comfortable.

She also has a movie The Pool directed by Chris Smith. She shares the screen space with Nana Patekar.The story revolves around slum kids and yes for your information, Slumdog Millionaire does not inspire the plot of movie.
