Bollywood family comic drama, Baap Re Baap, directed by Abdul Rashid Kardar and written by S. N. Banerjee was released in the year 1955. The movie starred Kishore Kumar and Smriti Biswas in lead roles while Maruti Rao, Chand Usmani, Leela Mishra, Ulhas, jayant and Meera devi also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the legendary music director O. P. Nayyar while the songs were beautifully sung by Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a young and handsome guy named Raj Kumar Ashok Sagar ( Kishore Kumar ), who is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his family in their palatial house. Raj’s father wants him to get married to the best girl and therefore he spends a lot of money to invite marriage proposal from all over India. However, Raj is already in love with a girl named Kokila ( Chand Usmani ) and wants to get married to her only. But the problem is that Kokila belongs to a poor family and makes living by selling flowers.

Raj parents finally selects Roopa ( Smriti Biswas ) for him. Roopa belongs to a wealthy family and is also well educated. Now Raj has to decides that whether he still wants to keep his love to Kokila a secret to his parents or he wants to make them learn about it. What will be the reaction of his parent’s to this relationship?
