Raj Kumar and Mamta Kulkarni starrer action thriller, Betaaj Badshah, was released on April 8, 1994. The movie was directed by Iqbal Durrani. The other starcast of the movie includes Maya Alagh, Shatrughan Sinha, Mukesh Khanna, Rana Jung bahadur, Prem Chopra, Deepshika, Brijesh Tiwari and Mahesh Anand in important characters. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the hit music director duo Anand Milind while the songs were crooned by Udit Narayan, Sudesh Bhonsle, Kumar Sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthy etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Raja prithviraj ( Raj Kumar ), who is living a wealthy lifestyle in his palatial house, he is famous for his kind nature and fair play. His words are considered as law in his territory and no one ever dare to oppose his decision. His daughter named Tejaswini ( Mamta Kulkarni ) is a very beautiful girl. Tejaswini is studying at a college. She come across a handsome hunk named Arjun Balwant rai ( Jai Mehta ). After initial misunderstanding, Jai and tejaswini falls in love with each other.

Prithviraj learns about Arjun and decides to meet with him. He asks Tejasnini to invites Arjun to their house. Arjun arrives there but instead of speaking good to him, Prithviraj insults him. He asks him to forget about Tejaswini as he is not appropriate for her. Arjun refuse to accept his saying and decides to move out alongwith Tejaswini. But they both are known to the fact that no one will dare to stand alongside them.
