Bollywood family drama, Beti Bete, directed by L. V. Prasad and written by Inder Raj Anand was released in the year 1964. The movie starred Sunil Dutt and Saroja Devi in lead roles while Niranjan Sharma, Jamuna, Master Anwar, Jayant, Mehmood, Jankidas, Shubha Khote, Ranjendra Nath and Randhir also played significant characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the hit veteran music director duo Shankar Jaikishen while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Suman Kalyanpur, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Raghu ( Jayant ) is widower, who is living a poor lifestyle alongwith his three young children. He looses his eyesight in an accident as a result of which looses his job. Raghu decides to leave his house and disappears from there leaving behind his three children. Destiny strikes and the children also get seperated from each other. Years later, the elder one, Ramu ( Sunil Dutt ) is now a poctkermar. Raghu’s second child, Munna ( Mehmood ) is living a wealthy lifestle in a house.

The youngest child of Raghu named Sarla ( Shubha Khote ) is also living a middle class lifestyle along with an aged couple. Ramu, Munna and Sarla meets with each other but fails to reveal about their relationships. Destiny plays its game and all the three reveals about their relationship.
