Not many might know that Boman Irani initially turned down the offer by Vidhu Vinod Chopra to play the dean of the medical college in the movie Munnabhai MBBS. He was not to keen to play the part. A reason for that was Shahrukh Khan had declined to play the part of Munna in the movie. When Sanjay Dutt was finalized for the role Vidhu again went back to Boman and this time around, he had no choice but to say yes.

The movie went on to become a huge success and the audiences appreciated the antics of boman in the movie. In the sequel, also he played the role of Lucky Singh to perfection. Boman says that he as an actor by pure chance. He never indented to face the camera but one thing turned into another and finally appearing on the celluloid became his full time profession.

Boman started as a professional photographer and then went onto to do some theatre.whe his first movie went onto to do good business that was the first time he thought of acting as a full time profession. Since then he has gone onto be a part of many successful projects. He has now started to bag in some crucial and good roles. His best work includes movies like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Munnabhai series and Don - The Chase Begins Again.

He is having Three Idiots lined up for release this year. He is also having Abbu Jaan, Fruit And Nut, Teen Patti and Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai. He says that representing the common person onscreen is what he likes the best about his job.
