Shobhaa De in her column recently expressed her views on what she made of the issue revolving around article 377. Ever since the day the court came out in favor of gays, the decision has seen some violent protests from different sects of the society. Celina Jaitley has from the very beginning supported the cause for the gays and stood by them she was not a bit amused by the column of Shobhaa De and her rennet interview to a magazine.

She did not take any jibe at the columnist as she say that her upbringing stopped her from doing so. However, she said that she expected something better from Shobhaa aunty who is close the age of her grandmother. She felt insulted by her comments. She said that she unlike her was not a social butterfly of did not get her success by writing provocative sexual content.

She took pride in her every small achievement be it becoming the Miss India or the runner up at the Miss Universe beauty pageant. She also has been the tourism ambassador from India to Egypt and besides having a flair for writings and acting, she has also travelled to most parts of the country. She believes that she truly is an example of a modern middle class girl.

She also said that Shobhaa De instead of taking a stand in the debate has diplomatically tried to make both sides happy. She is keeping her cards close to her until after when she would take the side that will have the advantage. She thinks that she will make her stand clearer one the court comes out with the final verdict.
