Computer games based on movie “Ghajini”

Aamir Khan’s “Ghajini” seems to be the biggest block buster of the year 2008. The movie was released on Christmas and the producers of the film are claiming that they have made more than Rs. 1 billion profits in the first 5 days. This speaks for the success of the film in the box office. Not only that, the success of the movie is moving to another level. This week, a computer game which is named Ghajini, The Game is going to hit the market. The game will feature Aamir Khan, the centre of attraction.

The plan was to launch the computer game one month before the release of the movie “Ghajini”, but the launch was delayed. The reason as given by Madhu Mantena, producer of “Ghajini”, is that they wanted to polish the game more. They thought that after the release of the film, they will use the game as a USP, when audiences will be fascinated with the chase aspect of the game.

The game was designed by Shashi Reddy, chairperson of FX Labs and Madhu Mantena, Ghajini’s producer and approximately Rs. 30 million has been spent for its execution. Ghajini, The Game is simply a cat and mouse game. The game features a computerized replica of Ghajini’s Aamir Khan (including same hairstyle) who is chasing the villains. The plot of the game is based on the movie “Ghajini”, the time from Aamir’s character getting hit on the head by the villain to the time when he catches and kills the first villain.

The chase will be carried further in the other games of the series.

The idea behind the launch of the game is to make “Ghajini” more successful. Moreover, the layer has only 15 minutes to get the game right or he will have to start again because the hero regains his memory only for 15 minutes.
