Most of the people put academics on a side after getting famous through some different means like modelling, films etc. But the actress who has grabbed eyeballs with her superb performance in Om Shanti Om has not actually putted academics on the back-burner. Deepika Padukone is currently persuaing a Bachelar Of Arts course from Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Deepika got famous with the success of her debut movie OSO in which she was opposite none other than baadshah Shahrukh Khan. Her acting in the movie was praised by the audience as well as the critics and she became bollywood heart-throb. The film was also termed as the biggest hit of year 2007.

Deepika Padukone is only 21 years old and she has achieved what generally people can only think of. Deepika is a student of BA course in IGNOU since 2005. Her choice of subjects shows that she has interest in socio-economic issues. She has performed well in all the five papers she has appeared at the end of first year in 2006.

She would take papers like Study of Society, Society of India, Sociological Thought, Society and Religion, Society and Stratification and Social Problems in India. She is also going to study Fundamentals of Economics and Agricultural Development in India in Economics which she has taken as subsidiary subject.

Deepika has done her schooling from Bangalore and then moved to Mumbai for persuaing her career in modelling. But after getting Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om, her life got changed amazingly. She is already busy in many of bollywood’s upcoming big projects.
