Devdas is a story that deals with the human desire of love, commitment and ethics. It’s an immortal story beautifully showcased by the man himself ‘Sanjay Leela Bhansali’. Sanjay has a peculiar way of sensing things and absorb them into the part of sensational realities. A storyline is from a classic novel ‘Devdas’ by Sarat Chandra Chatterjee which has been translated into many languages.

The star cast of this saga includes the jewels of bollywood like Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, Kirron Kher, Jackie Shroff and many more.
Apart from the screenplay and the acting its music have been its biggest USP which has been given by Ismail Darbar the same who’s given the music of Sanjay’s another hit ‘Hum Dil De chuke Sanam’. The music of this film has a sound of resonance and the emotions of buried or hidden soul. One can easily own it with his life. It has songs of desperation, remembrance, dedication, love, ego, pain, attitude and but offcourse inspirational.

The debut singer Shreya Ghosal who sang ‘Silsila yeh chahat Ka’ made her an overnight star and was a landmark of her career. Then, ‘Maar dala’ by Kavita Krishnamurthy on the poetry of Nusrat Badr was impeccable. Both of the above songs are totally distinctive but equally famous. ‘Bairi Piya’ by Shrya and Udit Narayan is the eternal romance between paro and Devdas and the special touch ‘essh’ satisfied the thirstiness of everyone and especially of character.

Baul geet-‘Chalak Chalak’ sung by Shreya, Vinod Rathod, Udit Narayan ebullient about the zest and wave of flow that has moulded the cry of love into the need of love. But the break off part and its sound ‘Hamesha tumko Chaha’ was nothing less than cry in every lovers eye and has reached rather stayed in everyone’s heart.
But the dance of Kirron kher a phenomenon theatre artist and the living legend and my favorite danced on the song ‘More Piya’ sung by the legendry singer Jaspinder Narula and Shreya. The song written by Pandit Birju Maharaj and sing by Kavita and SubramaniumNand Ko laal aiso’ and ‘Panghat mori laaj linhi’ is ever refreshing.
Even its background score was so popular that everyone demanded its CD’s also and that was given by Monty the same man who’s given the music of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariyan’. Devdas has overall a film of soul in each of its part like acting, music, songs, theme overall.
