Joy Mukherjee and Sharmila Tagore starrer romantic family drama, Dil Aur Mohabbat, was released in the year 1968. The movie was directed by Anand Dutta. The other starcast of the movie includes Ashok Kumar, Bela Bose, Gajanan Jagirdar, Sachin, Johnny Walker, K. N. Singh, Nasir Hussain, Sachin and Jankidas in important characters. The hit evergreen music of the movie was given by the legendary music director O. P. Nayyar while the songs were beautifully sung by Mahendra Kapoor, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Mr. Chaudhary ( Ashok Kumar ) is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his wife and a son named Ramesh ( Joy Mukherjee ). He is an honest and brave police officer by profession. His wife passes away in a tragic accident. Years later, Ramesh is now a grown up guy. Ramesh is also a honest and brave person like his father. Ramesh is send to Bombay for further studies. Chaudhary continues to send money to Ramesh for his needs. Chaudhary also tries to get transfer to Bombay so that he can live alongwith his son there.

Finally he gets the transfer to Bombay police. He writes a letter to his son informing about his arrival. He also writes Ramesh to pick him up from the railway station. But he get shocked with Ramesh absence at the railway station. He arrives at Ramesh’s room only to get the biggest shock of his life that Ramesh is charged with a case of murder and is now on a run from police. He reveals that Ramesh is charged of killing a women ( Bela Bose ).
