Emraan Hashmi has come out and made very serious allegations against the residents of a housing society in Pali Hill area. He was interested in buying a house over there but was unable to do so and was denied. Now he has come out saying that the reason for denial is not acceptable. They say that his presence in the society will affect their children as he has an image of a serial kisser on screen, which is not good for them.

However, as far as Emraan is considered he feels that he has been denied a house just because he is a Muslim. Mahesh Bhatt has come out in his support of him. The area is considered Beverly Hills of Mumbai with great names like Dilip Kumar and Sunil Dutt having lived in the area. Emraan says that he being such a big star is facing such problems he wonders what it would feel like to be Muslim without all that stardom.

Emraan could have bought the flat in the name of his wife who happens to be a Hindu but he did not and asked why he cannot buy it in his own name in a secular country. Now there are very serious charges and it cannot be denied that the plague of discrimination does exist in the country. In the past, Shabana Azmi also raised her voice when she faced problems buying a house in Mumbai.

Emraan was hinted the problems that he would face by the brokers when he first approached them. He has filed a complaint with State Minorities’ Commission, which is currently looking into the matter and will take action once they have completed their investigation into the matter.
