She re-invented herself with her sexy glam doll image make-over in Dhoom, and there was no looking back for Esha Deol ever since. Though her latest attempts to scare the hell out of everybody by playing a ghost in Ram Gopal Verma’s latest debacle in series, which went by the name of Darling have failed, she is sanguine enough about her forthcoming projects. In her own words though, she says that she is a “real sucker for pain”. Maybe that was the reason that she chose to play such a ‘painful’ role in the movie, the failure of which, will pain Ramu too for a long time to come.

Ask her whether she could have imagined anybody else as playing the role of Basanti in Sholay, or for that matter, in any of its sequels, pat comes the reply: “No!” And ask her about the kind of films that she enjoys, you will get to hear Indecent Proposal, and Girl Interrupted in the long list of names that she blurts out. Though post Dus and Dhoom, she hasn’t seem much of a success, her star shines bright enough to keep her in the A league.

And those who would like to see her doing an international stint might be in for a disappointment. Everyone from Shilpa Shetty and Aishwarya Rai has been ‘rumoured’ to have been considered for Agent 007 aka James Bond’s lady interest in the next in the Bond series. But Esha Deol isn’t miffed when asked whether she would like to play such a role. Instead, you might be surprised to hear that she thinks Dhoom was in itself an Indian Bind flick, and she doesn’t feel any need to head westwards.

And we would like to inform our viewers about the latest buzz is that a leading Bollywood director is planning to cast the whole of Deol family together for the first time. Though no confirmation has come from any side whether Esha’s younger sister Ahana would be cast as well, which might just be dream debut for her, the only confirmed news post the success of Apne is that Anil Sharma has cast Sunny Deol in his forthcoming film, being described as a sequel to Gadar.
