Many veterans of the industry have appreciated her work. The movie has fetched her worldwide recognition. She will be hoping that the movie will also get an Oscar.

She has also been a part of a controversy. It has been reported that after she signed Slumdog Millionaire she dumped his boyfriend Rohan. She moved on with her success and left the poor person behind who was there during the times of struggle of Freida. It has reported that Rohan also helped to bring up a website for Freida and did marketing for her. He is still hopeful that she will be back. He still maintains the engaged status for relationship on Facebook.

The actress is now believed to be dating her 18-year-old co-star Dev Patel. Dev is six years younger to Freida. Anil Kapoor has also said that there is something more to their relationship and that they looked good together. He said that they have a good chemistry and that they look after each other nicely. Dev Patel has apparently come out saying that she was gorgeous but they are not in a relationship at this point of time.
