Frozen is a black and white movie that tells the story of an old man living and in the snow clad mountains of Ladakh. The main lead in the movie has been played by Danny Denzongpa who immediately fell associated himself with the character when he first read the script. Shivajee Chandrabhushan has directed the movie in the extreme weather conditions of Ladakh and that too in winter when it is freezing cold over there.

An interesting trivia related to the movie. The director first approached veteran actors like Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah to play the role of the main protagonist Karma that was eventually played by Danny. Naseer could not do the movie, as he was busy with his own directorial movie Yun Hota To Kya Hota. Om Puri was really excited about the part asked Shivajee to shoot the movie in summers as his body would not be able to take the toll in winters as he found out during the shoot of the movie Lakshya.

Unable to make changes to the schedule he decided to go ahead without them. The movie was finished in a start to stop schedule .it took them nearly a month to wrap up the movie. The movie until now has been screened at over 30 film festivals and has won 18 awards. Now the movie after waiting for two years will finally be released all over India in phases. The movie has been release in Mumbai despite the ongoing strike.

Danny whose last three movies have been flops will be hoping to make up with this one. He will also be a part of movies like Acid Factory, Teen Patti and Luck in the coming months.
