Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan starrer Mohabbatein was directed by Aditya Chopra. Aishwarya Rai was also seen in a guest appearance in the film. Six actors Uday Chopra, Jugal Hansraj, Jimmy Shergill, Kim Sharma, Shamita Shetty and Preity Jhangyani made their debut in bollywood with this movie. The movie proved out to be the second highest grossing film of the year.

The plot of the movie is a Gurukul which is run by a strict headmaster named Narayan Shankar ( Amitabh Bachchan ). According to the rules of the Gurukul if any student found romantically involved with any girl then he will be expelled straightaway. But Sameer ( Jugal Hansraj ), Vikram ( Uday Chopra ) and Karan ( Jimmy Shergill ) eventually falls in love with three beautiful girls Sanjana ( Kim Sharma ), Ishika ( Shamita Shetty ) and Kiran ( Preeti Jhangiani ). They all give up hope because of the fear of Narayan Shankar. But then enters Raj Aryan ( Shahrukh Khan) as a music teacher who wants to spread the message of love amongst the students of Gurukul. Raj makes many changes in the rules of Gurukul and also breaks them several time for his goal.

Later Narayan Shankar came to know that the Raj was the student who fell in love with his daughter, Megha ( Aishwarya Rai ) and who was expelled by him from the Gurukul. Then starts the real war between Raj Aryan and Narayan Shankar’s ideas and rules. The music of the film was given by Jatin Lalit.
