Richa Sharma was born on 29th of August in Haryana, India. She started her singing career in the small age of 8 by rendering bhajans mainly Mata Ke Jagran. As she was the daughter of a temple priest so she used to listen bhajans from him in her childhood days. Later she decided to take bhajan singing as her career. Her whole family suppoted her decision of taking singing as her career.

Her academic education also suffered a lot because of her singing talent. She did proper tarining in Indian Classical music under Pandit Aaskaran Sharma for sharpning her voice to the extreme level. After that she taught to make it big in her life and moved towards Mumbai in the year 1994. Though she made her debut in bollywood with the movie Salma Pe Dil Aa Gaya in 1996 but her major break was Subash Ghai’s Taal in which she worked with A R Rahman.

After that she sung for many films like Zubeidaa, Saathiya, Baghban, Soch, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kaante. She also released some music albums of her in the form of ‘Ni Main Yaar Nu Sajda Kardi’ and Wind of Rajasthan.
