Preity Zinta was on born January 31, 1975 into a Hindu Rajput family of Himachal Pradesh. His father, who was in Indian Army died when she was just 13 years old. She has one elder brother, Deepankar and an younger bro Manish. She did her graduation in criminal psychology. But later she took up modelling as her career.

Preity made her acting debut in the year 1998 with Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se opposite none other than Shahrukh Khan. But she was in second lead in the film as Manisha Koirala was the lead heroine of that film. After that Preity did Soldier with Bobby Deol and won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut category. But the turning point of her career was the film Kya Kehna in which she portrayed the role of teenage mother.

She did many movies in the form of Sangharsh, Farz, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahta Hai, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke etc. But Year 2003 proved out to be very lucky for Preity babe as she delivered three big hits in the form of The Hero : Love Story Of A Spy, Koi Mil Gaya and Kal Ho Naa Ho. She infact won her first Filmfare Best Actress Award in 2003 for her performance in the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho.

Later she did another movie with King Khan under Yash Raj Banner in the year 2004 titled Veer Zara in which she actually overshadowed the brilliant performance of Rani Mukherjee. After that she did movies like Salaam Namaste, Jaaneman, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. Recently along with boyfriend Ness Wadia she bought Indian Premier League cricket team Kings XI Punjab. Though her team failed to win the IPL touranament but she is still okay with it.
