Famous bollywood playback singer, Shreya Ghoshal was born in a Bengali family on 12th March 1984 in Rajasthan. Her father is a nuclear power plant engineer works for Nuclear Power Corporation of India.

In early days of her childhood, Shreya was sent to Mahesh Chandra Sharma for getting formal training in Hindustani classical music. She also won the Sa Re Ga Ma musical contest of Zee TV in her childhood days in which Kalyanji was also one of the judge.

Later her whole family shifted to Mumbai. And this time when she competed in Sa Re Ga Ma as an adult, film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali goes flattered after hearing her voice quality. He was so impressed by her voice that immdeiately offered her to sing for Aishwarya Rai in the movie Devdas.

Her ‘silsila yeh chahat ka‘ picturised on Aish in Devdas was very much appreciated by audience. After that she never looked back for once.
