36 China Town was a thriller movie that was released on May 5, 2006 under the banner of Mukta Arts Ltd. The movie was directed by Abbas Burmawalla and Mustan Burmawalla and produced by Subhash Ghai. The significant roles were enacted by Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal, Kareena Kapoor, Upen Patel and Shahid Kapoor. There were special appearances by Tanushree Datta and Priyanka Chopra. The music was directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the songs were sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, Kunal Ganjawala, K K, Shaan and Alka Yagnik.

36 China Town has been directed by Abbas and Mustan who are quite popular for producing action and thrilling movies. 36 China Town is also based on a thrilling mystery and revolves around a murder of a high profile woman. The brainy cop is able to find the real murderer out of number of suspects. Sonia ( Isha Koppikar ) is a successful entrepreneur running a casino in Goa. She loves her son a lot and when he went missing she declared a good amount of money as a reward. Raj ( Shahid Kapur ) and Priya ( Kareena Kapoor ) are two strangers who spots the child and agrees to share the reward between them.

Raj and Priya takes the child back to her mom’s bungalow but were shocked to see her dead. They ran away from the house in panic but Priya forgot to take her suitcase along with herself. Now they become the prime suspect in the eyes of police. But the inspector Akshay ( Akshaye Khanna ) was clever enough to spot the difference and knows that there is more to the mystery. When the officer looked into the matter he come across various other suspects as well who were a playboy ( Upen Patel ) and two couples ( Johny Lever-Tanaaz and Paresh Rawal-Payal Rohatgi ).
