The social movie Aap Ki Khatir was released on August 25, 2006 under the banner of Venus Records & Tapes. The movie was directed by Dharmesh Darshan and produced by Ganesh Jain and Ratan Jain. The important roles were enacted by Akshaye Khanna, Amisha Patel, Priyanka Chopra, Sunil Shetty and Dino Morea while the presence of Anupam Kher, Tiku Talsania and Lilette Dubey supported the film. The music was directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the songs were sung by Alisha Chinoy, Jaspinder Narula, Sunidhi Chauhan, K K, Kunal Ganjawala and Kailash Kher.

It seems that the move Aap Ki Khatir, directed by Dharmesh Darshan is based on some different topic other than what he had been displaying in his earlier movies like Raja Hindustani and Bewafaa. Aap Ki Khatir also bears a close resemblance to movies like The Wedding Date, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Monsoon Wedding. The movie starts with the break up of Anu ( Priyanka Chopra ) and her boyfriend Danny ( Dino Morea ). Anu lived in London but she is now in Mumbai for her step sister Shirani’s ( Amisha Patel ) marriage to Kunal Shah ( Suniel Shetty ), a New York based Gujarati businessman and also Danny’s best friend.

Anu makes a plan to make Danny jealous and for this purpose she asks her colleague Aman ( Akshaye Khanna ) to accompany her in the wedding as her partner. The plan did work gradually and steadily but it was a heart break for one another person as well. It was Shirani who was also involved with Danny earlier. The twist to the story comes when Aman realizes that he has fallen for Anu but she is in love with Danny. Arjun Khanna ( Anupam Kher ) and Betty Khanna ( Lilette Dubey ) plays the guardians of Anu and Shirani.
