Aapas Ki Baat was a romantic action film that was released on February 19, 1982. The movie was directed by Harmesh Malhotra and produced by Salim. The main roles in the movie were played by Raj Babbar, Shakti Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon and Kalpana Iyer while the presence of Asrani and Bharat Kapoor supported the flm. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik while the lyrics were given by Hasrat Jaipuri.

Aapas Ki Baat was a romantic film that revolved mostly around a woman named Mrs. Sinha who lived a wealthy life with her son Vinod in Delhi. It was her son Vinod ( Bharat Kapoor ) who took his entire father’s business after his death. She also has a daughter named Kajal ( Poonam Dhillon ) who has an obsession for playing cards and get along with her friends to play cards quite often. Vinod wanted Kajal to get married to his friend, Shyam ( Shakti Kapoor ), but Kajal does not like him.

The movie takes a turn when one day Kajal informs her brother that she is already in love with a guy named Anand ( Raj Babbar ) who works as a florist to earn his living. This was not at all liked by Vinod and his mother but Kajal was firm on her decision. Vinod then decides to meet Anand to test whether his love for Kajal is true or not. Vinod demanded that he should stay away from Kajal for some months and should not talk to her, to which he agrees.
