Bollywood yesteryear classic hit, Adhikar, directed by S. M. Sagar and written by Ramesh Pant was released on April 28, 1971. The movie starred Deb Mukherjee and Nanda in lead roles while Raj Mehra, Kishen Mehta, Shivraj, Ashok Kumar, Indira Bansal, Nazima, Tabassum and Rajnish also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the film was directed by the well known music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with young and handsome, Shyam ( Deb Mukherjee ). He meets with the beautiful girl named Radha ( Nazima ), who also studies in the same college. They both falls in loev with each other and even gets physical with each other. But some misunderstanding happens between Radha and Shyam. Shyam’s family forces him to marry another girl named Meera Sharma ( Nanda ) to which he agrees. On the other hand, Radha learns that she is pregnant with Shyam’s child. She doesn’t loose hope and gives brith to the child.

Problem arises when Meera reveals this secret of Shyam. She brings Radha’s child to home and lies to Shyam that the child actually belongs to her. But Shyam disbeliefs her and starst suspecting on her career. He starts ahting both Meera and the child. then he meets with radha once again and their old relation forces them to get involved in the realtionship with each other.
