Agni Sakshi was a romantic thriller released on 15 March 1996. The movie was released under the label of ZEE Music. Partho Ghosh directed the movie. The dialogues were written by Hriday Lani .The main star caste included Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala and Nana Patekar while Divya Dutta, Ravi Behl and Alok Nath played the supporting roles. The music for the movie was given by the popular duo of Nadeem Shravan and was an instant hit with the audiences. The voices used in the songs were of Vinod Rathod, Alisha Chinoi, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kumar Sanu and Babul Supriyo.

Suraj Kapoor ( Jackie Shroff ) portrays a young and a very rich man. One day Suraj meets a girl name Shivangi ( Manisha Koirala ) and instantly falls in love with here. The duo get married and lived happily. One day inside a restaurant a man approaches the couples and claims that Shivangi is married to him and her real name is Manju. This leaves the couple shocked to the core.

In a turn of events, the man proves that Manju alias Shivangi is indeed his wife in front of the judge. This leaves Suraj bewildered and he is forced to think why at first Shivangi left that man and started to live as Shivangi. The movie proved to be the blockbuster of the year. The movie has been reportedly inspired by the Hollywood flick sleeping with the Enemy starring Julia Roberts.
