Bollywood movie, Anhonee, directed by Ravi tandon and written by K. K. Shukla was released on April 26, 1973. The movie starred Sanjeev Kumar and Leena Chandavarkar in lead roles while Bindu, Kamini kaushal, Padma Khanna, Paintal, Manmohan, S. P. Dutt, Jankidas and Sateyendra kapoor also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was composed by none other well knwon veteran music director Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were crooned by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha bhonsle.

Rekha ( Leena Chandavarkar ) is a doctor by profession and is living alongwith her step mother in Bombay after the death of her father. She runs a mental hospital. One night she come across a mentally retarted guy named Sunil ( Sanjeev Kumar ) while returning to home. Rekha manage to convince him that she is his friend and gets him admitted in her hospital. She decides to look after and provide treatment to him with the help of another doctor named Dr. Mathur ( Manmohan ). Sunil starts recovering because of the good care of Rekha.

He even saves her from being molested by some goons. Sunil then fully recovers from his mental state. Meanwhile Sunil and Rekha have fallen in love with each other and gets engaged. It is then Rekha reveals that Sunil is not what who is claiming to be. Sunil also learns that Rekha has been blackmailed by a guy named Tiger ( Sudhir ), who knows a dirty secret pf Rekha’s past life.
