Anwar was a social that released on January 12, 2007 under the banner of Dayal Creations. The movie was directed by Manish Jha and included Manisha Koirala, Rajpal Yadav, Siddharth Koirala and Vijay Raaz in the lead roles. The significant roles were played by Hiten Tejwani, Sudhir Pandey and Nauheed Cyrusi. The music of the film was directed by Mithoon and Pankaj Awasthi and the songs were sung by Roop Kumar Rathod, Kshitij and Shilpa Rao.

The story of Anwar is about a man who is surrounded by controversies and these become the focus of the others. Anwar ( Siddharth Koirala ) is an young muslim guy who being a calm guy is unaware of the realities of the world. His nature was mostly because of the guidance provided to him by his teacher Master Pasha ( Vijay Raaz ). Pasha was an artist who deeply loved architecture and classical art but didn’t love life and was uninterested in the working of the world. He imparts his experiences to Anwar.

Anwar is the story of a man who was so uninterested in his life that he decided to leave everything behind to escape from this world. There were two people who held a special position in his life, one was Mehru ( Nauheed Cyrusi ). Anwar loved her a lot but she was tired of the restrictions that her Muslim religion levied on her and this was why she decided to leave India. The other person is Udit ( Hiten Tejwani ), his best friend and also a more practical person than Anwar. Anwar was looking for love but was given betrayal by everybody.
