Bollywood family drama, Apnapan, directed by J. Om Prakash was released in the year 1977. The movie starred Jeetendra and Reena Roy in lead roles while Sanjeev Kumar, Sulakshana Pandit, Pinchoo Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Raj Mehra, Sudhir Dalvi and Iftekhar also played important roles in the film. The melodious evergreen music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were beautifully crooned by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar and Sulakshana Pandit.

The movie starts with young and handsome Anil Mehra ( Jeetendra ), who decides to relocate to Bombay after getting a new job there. He takes help of a beautifull lady named Radhika Sharma ( Sulakshana Pandit ) in finding the right location for his home. Meanwhile he develops love feeling for Radhika and continue to meet with her. Radhika too starts feeling attracted towards Anil and continue to meet with him. Anil then proposes to her to which she readily agrees.

Soon they both get married to each other. They both starts leading a happy life in Bombay. But the problem arises when Radhika finds out that Anil is not a bachelor. She get shocked to learn that Anil even has a child from his previous marraige. She reveals that Anil divorced is wife, Kamini Aggarwal ( Reena Roy ) for having an affair with Rajan Rashpal Singh ( Sanjeev Kumar ).
