The action film Awarapan was released on June 29, 2007 and under the banner of Vishesh Films. The movie has been directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. Awarapan is mostly shot at foreign locations. The actors in lead roles are Emraan Hashmi, Shreya Saran and Mrinalini Sharma while supporting roles were played by Ashutosh Rana, Aashish Vidyarthi and Purab Kohli. The music has been directed by Pritam Chakraborty and the songs were sung by Mustafa Zahid, Ustad Rafaqat Ali Khan, Suzan and Annie.

Awarapan is a movie full of mixture of love, passion, hatred and revenge and had been directed by the capable director Mohit Suri who had produced few hit movies like Zeher and Woh Lamhe. The story of the movie revolves around a man named Shivam ( Emraan Hashmi )who was lover unsuccessful in love and this was why the memories of the past always haunted him. He was in need of little fun and relaxation but could only find hurting and solitude. He wanted to get over these memories and had no one ehind him. Thus he worked for a Hong Kong based gangster Malik ( Ashutosh Rana ) who h owned a chain of hotels with him.

Malik asked Shivam to keep an eye on his mistress Reema ( Mrinalini Sharma ) when he was on his business trip. Reema was a young Pakistani girl whom Malik got from a flesh market in Bangkok. Shivam was required to kill her if she was found cheating Malik in his absence. The past memories came to Shivam that reminded him about his love. He then started liking her secretly but was shocked to know one day that she had a boyfriend ( Rehaan Khan ) and was planning to run away with him.
