Sanjeev Kumar and Rati Agnihotri starrer romantic flick, Ayash, was released in the year 1982. The movie was directed by Shakti Samanta. The other starcast of the movie includes Leena Das, Beena Banerjee, Arun Govil, Helen, Asit Sen, Padma Khanna, Birbal, Arpana Chaudhary, Heena Kausar and Chandrashekhar in important characters. The hit veteran music of the movie was given by the well known music director Ravindra Jain while the songs were rendered by K. J. Yesudas, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Thakur Jaswant Singh ( Sanjeev Kumar ) is living a wealthy lifestyle in his palatial house. He lives a totally carefree lifestyle. Thakur is always surrounded by his friends but none of them are the true friends of him in reality. They all pretends to be his friends in order to enjoy with his money. Thakur is an alcoholic and womenizer. He spends most of his time watching dancing courtesans. His life gets changed totally when he come across a guy named Amal ( Arun Govil ), who is the friend of one of his firnd named Sansar ( Madan Puri ).

Amal is a photographer by profession and after knowing this Thakur hires him immediately on a generous salary. He also provides him accomodation. Thakur then come across a beautiful girl ( Rati Agnihotri ) and falls in love with her. Soon they both get married to each other. After few years, she gives birth to a child and names him Naresh. Jaswant get shocked to learn that his wife and Amal are having an illegal affair.
