Bollywood fantasy flick, Baghawat, directed by Ramanand Sagar was released in the year 1982. The movie starred Dharmendra and Hema malini in lead roles while Reena Roy, Amjad Khan, Sujit Kumar, Padma Chavan, Asha Sharma, Dinesh Thakur, Birbal, Manmauji and Urmila Bhatta also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by the well known music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were beautifully crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Mahendra Kapoor and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with a guy named Amar ( Dharmendra ), who is living a poor but happy life alongwith his parents. The region in which he is living is under Maharaj Vikram Singh ( Amjad Khan ), who is a very cruel ruler. Vikram has a beautiful sister named Padmavati ( Hema Malini ), who is good at heart. Amar falls in love with her at first sight and decides to woo her. After some inital fightings, Amar and Padmavati falls in love with each other and decides to get married. When Vikram reveals about the love affair between Amar and Padmavati, he orders his mens to kill Amar.

But Amar somehow manage to save his life but gets badly injured. He is rescued by former senapati Sher Khan ( Dinesh Thakur ), who is organizing a rebellion amongst the people alongwith Maharani. Amar gets shcoked to learn that he is actuallu Maharani’s son and the ‘yuvraaj’ of the region. He also learns that Vikram’s father Durjan Singh killed his father. Now Amar seeks revenge from Vikram?
