Bollywood family drama, Bazar, written and directed by Sagar Sarhadi was released in the year 1982. The movie starred Farooq Sheikh and Smita Patil in lead roles while Rita Kaul, Naseeruddin Shah, Yunus Parvez, Supriya Pathak, Malika, Javed Khan, Shaukat Azmi and Bharat Kapoor also played significant characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was composed by the legendary music director Khayyam while the songs were sung by Bhupendra Singh, Talat Aziz, Lata Mangeshkar, Pamela Chopra etc.

Salim ( Naseeruddin Shah ) is in love with a beautiful girl named Najma ( Smita Patil ) despite of having a completely different nature and thinking. Salim thinks that a women like Nazima should not be financially dependent on him. On the otherhand, there is a couple, Sarju ( Farooq Sheikh ) and Shabnam ( Supriya Pathak ), who are in love and are planning to get married in near future. But unfortunately, Shabnam’s father arranges her marriage to another guy, who is much older to her.

Finally, Shabnam got engaged to that older guy. Sarju get devastated with this news. He then decides to reveal about his love for Shabnam to her father and that old man. Shabanam too decides to help him in convincing her father for their relationship. But what they plan to do for convincing Shabna’s father, totally changes their life forever.
