Bollywood family drama, Bhabhi, directed by R. Krishnan and S. Panju was released in the year 1957. The movie starred Balraj Sahni and Nanda in lead roles while Anwar Hussain, Jagdeep, Shyama, Pandharbhai, Bipin Gupta, Jagdeep, Master Bhagwan, Manorama, Om Prakash, Shivraj and Durga Khote also played significant characters in the film. The hit veteran music of the movie was composed by none other than the female music director Chitra Gupta while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Shanta ( Pandharbai ) is a graduate in Arts and is living alongwith her parents. She is forced to get married to a lesser educated person named Ratanlal ( Balraj Sahni ). Widowed Ratanlal is a businessman by profession and is living alongwith his son, Mithu and his three brothers, Ramesh, Rajan and Baldev. Ratan’s allows Shanta to bring her widowed sister, Lata ( Nanda ) in their house. After few years, Ratan get his two brothers, Rajan and Ramesh married to Mangla and Tara respectively.

Mangla and Tara decides to get together to force their respective husband for claiming their share in the business and property. Ratanlal divides property and business in equal share among all three brothers and relocates to a village. What will happen this family now? Whether the family will reunite once again or not?
