Bhagyashree, born as Bhagyashree Patwardhan on February 23, 1969, is a famous bollywood actress. She belongs to a Marathi family. Her father was the former Maharaja of Sangli. Acting has always remained her only passion from her childhood days. Bhagyashree made her acting debut with a television programme Kachchi Dhoop in the year 1983. She made her debut as alead actress in bollywood movie Maine Pyaar Kiya. She played the female lead opposite Salman Khan in the film. The film became a big hit and she got overnight fame.

But after reciveing a good response from audience in her very first film, her career took a down turn. After marrying Himalaya Dassani, who is also a actor by profession, she started insisting on doing roles only opposite her husband. And this condition of her did bad for her bollywood career as none of the film they did together such as Qaid Main Hai Bulbul, Tyaagi etc managed to do well at the box office. However, she made a successful comeback to bollywood films with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Humko Deewana Kar Gaye in the year 2006. Her last film Janani in which she played the lead role failed to do good for her acting career.
