Yesteryear bollywood flick, Chhalia, directed by Manmohan desai and written by Inder Raj Anand was released in the year 1960. The movie starred Raj Kapoor and Nutan Behl in lead roles while Bupet Raja, Pran, Shobna Samarth and Rehman also played important characters in the film. The melodious evergreen music of the movie was composed by the well knwon veteran music director duo Kalyanji Anandji while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Chhalia ( Raj kapoor ), who come to the city in the search of a decent job. But he get shcoked to see the harsh side of the life in the city. He fails to get any job and therefore decides to be a criminal. He then come across a beautiful women named Shanti ( Nutan Behl ) and falls in love with her. But once again he get shocked when he reveals that Shanti is already married to guy named Kewal ( Rehman ), who lives seperate from her. He also learns that Shanti is the mother a kid named Anwar ( Bupet Raja ).

Chhalia then takes the resposibility of locating Kewal so that he can reuntie the family of shanti. But little does he knows is that in his effort of completing Shanti’s family, he himself will get into a big problem.
