The romantic movie Dil Hai Tumhaara was released on September 6, 2002 under the banner of Tips Music Films. The movie was directed by Kundan Shah and produced byKumar S Taurani. The lead roles in the movie were played by Preity Zinta, Mahima Choudhary, Arjun Rampal and Jimmy Shergill while the roles of Rekha and Sachin Khedekar were also important. Music of the film was directed by Nadeem-Shravan while the songs were sung by Kumar Sanu, Sarika Kapoor, Udit Narayan, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Sonu Nigam.

Dil Hai Tumhaara directed by Kundan Shah who is famous for the movie Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, is a movie on similar topic of love triangle and sacrifices. Kundan Shah has also directed a movie with Preity Zinta earlier named Kya Kehna. The movie didn’t have much to offer but if you are a Preity or Rekha fan then this movie is for you. The movie is a story of a widow Saritaji ( Rekha ) who has everything from power, wealth and political status to two lovely daughters Shalu ( Preity Zinta ) and Nimmi ( Mahima Chaudhary ).

The movie also revolves around two sisters quite different from each other but quite faithful to each other. Shalu is mischievous while Nimmi is quiet and gentle. Shalu loves making friends and everyone loves this attitude of her. But there was someone who never liked her, she was Saritaji. Saritaji loved Nimmi and showered her love on her ignoring Shalu. There are two men competing for Shalu’s love Dev ( Arjun Rampal ) and Samir ( Jimmy Shergil ) while Sahlu is in need of love of Saritaji.
