The romantic movie Dil Vil Pyar Vyar was released on October 18, 2002 under the banner of Metalight Productions Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed by Anant Mahadevan and produced by Vivek Vaswani. The significant roles in the movie were played by Jimmy Shergill, Hrishita Bhatt, Namrata Shirodkar and R Madhavan while the roles of Sanjay Suri and Sonali Kulkarni were equally important. Songs of the movie were sung by Babul Supriyo, Sadhana Sargam, Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shaan and Kumar Sanu.

Usually the movies have single story but the movie Dil Vil Pyar Vyar is little different as the movie produced by Metalight Productions P. Ltd. in association with Insight Productions P. Ltd. has three different stories but preserve the same climax by merging into one end. The stories are based on one theme of love. The first story is about the married couple Krish ( R. Madhavan ) and Raksha ( Namrata Shirodkar ). Both are aspiring singers and want to make their name. Though Krish is more talented than Raksha, it is the success of her that creates the problem.

In the second story, Dev ( Sanjay Suri ) is a widower whose wife Payal ( Dipannita Sharma ) died soon after their honeymoon. He then migrates to Mumbai from Pune with his lovely sister Rachna ( Bhavna Pani ) and comes across Gauri ( Sonali Kulkarni ) who lives with her mentally ill brother Gaurav ( Rakesh Bapat ). They fall in love with each other and Rachna with Gaurav. The third story is of Hrithik ( Jimmy Shergill ) and Jojo ( Hrishitaa Bhatt ).
