Dulara was a comedy and suspense movie released on January 28, 1994. The movie was directed and produced by Vimal Kumar. The main roles in the movie were played by Govinda, Farida Jalal, Karisma Kapoor and Dilip Tahil while the presence of Javed Khan, Tej Sapru, Avtar Gill, Rakesh Bedi, Gulshan Grover and Ranjeet supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Nikhil-Vinay and the songs were sung by Govinda, Sadhana Sargam, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan.

Dulara was a comedy movie filled good doses of suspense at regular intervals. Now since the lead role in the movie was played by Govinda, the genre of the movie can be guessed easily. The story of the movie revolves mostly around a simple guy named Raja ( Govinda ) who is in love with a beautiful young girl named Priya Chauhan ( Karisma Kapoor ). Priya is a modern girl who is also attracted towards Raja. Thus on her birthday, she invites him and his friends on a party at her home.

Priya’s brother Inspector Vijay Chauhan ( Ranjeet ) did not like Raja and also wants his sister Priya to stay away from him. Vijay is suspicious of him and thus humiliates him. But Priya loved him very much and thus decided to ignore her brother Vijay. The twist in the tale comes when Vijay comes up with a news that Raja is the son of the famous gangster James ( Dilip Tahil ) and Raja is wanted for the murder of two women and Professor Verma ( Tej Sapru ).
