The social and romantic film Fanaa was released on May 26, 2006 under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The movie was directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra. The important roles were played by Aamir Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Kajol and Master Ali Haji while there were several special appearances by Kirron Kher, Lara Dutta, Tabu and Shiney Ahuja. The music of the film was directed by Jatin-Lalit and the songs were sung by Shaan, Babul Supriyo, Kailash Kher, Sunidhi Chauhan and Sonu Nigam.

The movie is directed by the famous director Kunal Kohli who has produced several hits like Hum Tum. The movie explores the romantic relations between a tourist and a guide. Rehan Qadri ( Aamir Khan ) is a tour guide with some liking for the poetry. He is cool guy who likes to live the life to the fullest and always tries to impress the girls with his poetry. Zooni Ali Beg ( Kajol ) is a beautiful but blind tourist. She is full of spirits and will not let her disability stop her at any point of time. She is on a tour on her own for the first time in her life and comes across Rehan who happens to understand her more than anybody else.

Rehan was touched by her nature but there was smething mysterious about him that he cannot reveal to her. Zooni’s friends warned her initially about him but she just ignored them as she wanted to discover life and love which she had not been able to do throughout her life. The twist in the story comes when she regains her eye sight and started living with her parents in Kashmir. She is now a proud mother of her son ( Master Ali Haji ). The movie justifies the title Fanaa that means destroyed in love.
